Shooting Slumps

Basketball is one stressful, wonderful, beautiful, emotional sport that people love to play or watch. Basketball could be love/hate sport for people. It can get under your skin emotionally if you're in a shooting slump. When you are in a shooting slump you always think of the worst that can happen. If you miss a shot you put yourself down the next shot and it creates your mindset to be negative. You always have to be confident in yourself no matter what. You can also be in a shooting slump physically. Sometimes your shot can have little differences that can make a big difference on your shot efficiency. For instance, some odd reason on your shot when you shoot you lean left when you are a straight up and down shooter can take you out physically. If you want to get out of a slump you have to shoot close in the paint shots then work your way out further and further. You have to believe that that little exercise can help you out. You have to believe in it and yourself. Great shooters always keep a positive mindset. Slumps can last for weeks, and you question yourself if you are a great shooter. You have to block out that negativity then you are making process. Also, if one of your greatest shooters on the team is in a slump, tell them that they can get out of it and they are one of the greatest shooters on your team or than you seen. Little things can make a big difference. Encouragement is always good, especially if it is one of your teammates. Sometimes shooters just need to hear from people that they are great shooters and they can always find their way out of slumps. If you are a great shooter and just having a rough time shooting, do not worry it will come back to you. If you feel like it is not working even though you are trying your best, maybe you are trying to hard. The greatest things take time. Work on other aspects of your game. Work harder on defense, make more assists, grab more rebounds, or maybe take shots closer to the rim. It will work, it just takes time. Never doubt yourself even when people tell you that you are great. People back you up on how capable you are of playing the game, especially if you are a shooter.
