8 Game Winning Streak and History
Lately the Cleveland Cavaliers are on a hot streak. They have won eight games in a row and last night was their eighth against the best team in the East, Toronto Raptors. LeBron had 35 points, making the tiebreaking 3- pointer with forty eight seconds remaining, and Cleveland beat the Toronto Raptors 105-101. Toronto, who owns the best record in the Eastern Conference, went ahead midway through the first quarter, built the lead to 14 points late in the third quarter and still led by 10 with about eight minutes to play. "I guess it was a little desperation, you get down on your home floor 13, 14 points, you go out and control what you can control. That's how hard you play, how hard you defend. The defense got our offense going." Said LeBron. With LeBron's jumper from the top of the key gave Cleveland a 102-99 lead and tied him with Mark Price for the franchise record for 3-pointers made at 802. LeBron scored 10 points in the fourth quarter, when Cleveland held Toronto to 13 points. The Cavaliers have not lost a game since falling to the Toronto Raptors 110-93 at the Quicken Loans Arena on November 22, when LeBron called the Cavaliers "fragile." Dion Waiters came off the bench and had 18 points and Kevin Love had 17. LeBron's 35 point game yesterday, December 9, 2014 snapped an 11 game streak with fewer than 30 points, his longest such streak since his rookie season.
